With Dr Anthony Turton – Professor at the Centre for Environmental Management at the University of Free State. “Water is a flux, moving in time and space, yet we have always managed it as a stock, static in time and space. Our collective challenge is to change our mindset away from the concept of a stock, which is finite, to the concept of a flux, which is infinite and thus renewable.”
There is probably no greater challenge to the future of humanity than access to potable water. It is now imperative that we view water through new holistic eyes – the most critical element of an enabling flow in our living ecology. The question is, how can the holistic perspective help us to think of water differently, so that we will engage with it effectively and sustainably?
